How Often Should I Visit My Hairdresser?

The frequency of your visits to our High Wycombe Hair Salon depends on your hair type, style, and personal preferences. As a general rule of thumb

Cuts
If you're aiming to keep your hair healthy and prevent split ends, regular trims are a must. For a short hairstyle, visit every 4-6 weeks to maintain shape and style. For mid length and long hairstyle a trim every 6-12 weeks will help to keep split ends at bay.

Colour
For root touch-ups or grey coverage, visit every 4-6 weeks. To keep a full head colour looking vibrant and fresh visit every 6-8 weeks. Balayage and highlights require less maintenance so allow around 3-4 months.

Hair Treatments
Regular hair treatments are important as they help keep your hair strong and healthy. Conditioning treatments, for instance, can replenish moisture and repair damage from heat styling, colouring, and environmental exposure.

Deep Conditioning Treatments: Every 4-6 weeks to keep hair hydrated and healthy.
Keratin Treatments: Every 3-6 months to maintain smoothness and manage frizz.
Blowdry: Weekly or bi-weekly, depending on your preference and hair type, or just for that special event.

How Can I Make My Professional Blow Dry Last Longer?

Firstly, hands off! Avoid running your fingers through your hair which will help reduce the transfer of oils and dirt from your hands. If you do find your hair gets greasy use a dry shampoo to absorb excess oil and add volume. Apply it at the roots, and brush through to distribute it evenly.

Make sure you keep your hair dry by avoiding humid environments and using a shower cap - too much moisture can quickly ruin your blowout!

We’re happy to show you how to recreate your salon look at home. Whether you need blow-drying, curling, or straightening tips, we can give you a step-by-step guide and recommend the right tools and products for the job.

Can I Bring Pictures And Screen Shots Of Styles I Like To Show My Stylist?

Absolutely! We encourage this as it means we get a better idea of the look you are hoping to achieve. The team at The Cutting Studio have years of experience and will always be honest with you on what can realsitically be achieved. Rest assured, they have he skills, knowlege and creativity to deliver a range of traditioanl and modern looks.

How Can I Help My Colour To Last Longer & Stay Looking Vibrant?

If you want your professional colour to last longer after leaving the salon, avoid washing it too soon! This is one of the most common mistakes we see as stylists and colour technicians. Wait at least 48 hours before washing your hair, though some of you might be able to wait up to a week (use dry shampoo if you're concerned about greasiness). This delay allows colour-treated strands to recover from chemical, physical, and thermal damage, reducing stress on your freshly processed hair.

What Are The Latest Hair Trends?

Current trends include textured bobs, curtain bangs, and natural, lived-in colours like balayage and ombré. Block colouring is also a popular hair colouring technique. We can discuss how these trends can be adapted to suit your personal style and hair type, ensuring you look trendy while feeling comfortable.

How Can I Get Rid Of Frizz?

If you struggle with hard to handle, frizzy or unruly hair then a keratin blow dry may be just what you need. Hair becomes more manageable and easier to style. Better still, it requires less effort to blow-dry or straighten, as the treatment helps to maintain a straighter and smoother texture.

Cocochoco Smoothing Blowdrys at The Cutting Studio are suitable for various hair types, including curly, wavy, or straight hair. They can be customised to achieve different levels of straightness or to enhance natural curls while reducing frizz.

How Do I Choose The Right Haircut For My Face Shape?

During your consultation your stylist will discuss the most suitable styles to compliment your natural features perfectly. They will firstly determine whether your face is round, oval, square, heart-shaped, or diamond-shaped before suggesting a range of manageable looks. They will also consider factors like your hair texture and lifestyle.
