Keratin is a natural compound found in hair, skin and nails and it is this protein that gives your hair its strength. This 'liquid hair' blends with the hair on your head dramatically improving it's quality on both the inside cortex and the outside cuticle layers. Smaller keratin molecules penetrate the cortex improving and repairing the quality of the hair from the inside. This adds strength, elasticity and moisture resulting in smooth, soft, shiny and straight hair.. The larger keratin molecules coat the hair cuticle and protect against environmental effects such as UV rays, smog, and smoke. Further damage to the hair shaft is thus prevented.

The effectiveness of the nano particles of keratin are fortified with the addition of 22 carat gold. As an element, gold is well known for its unique ability to affect negative ions. Can KeraStraight be applied on chemically treated hair?

Yes, the Keratin Treatment will not damage the hair and can be applied to all hair types, including virgin, coloured, highlighted or permed.

Can KeraStraight be applied on top of permed, relaxed or straightened hair?

Yes, KeraStraight can be applied to ANY hair over ANY previous chemical treatment.

Is this treatment a permanent straightener?

No, KeraStraight is based on Keratin, the hair's natural protein and will gradually fade out over time.

When can I Colour my hair?

It's best to colour your hair prior to the KeraStraight process or from 2 weeks afterwards.

How long does the treatment keep the hair straight and treated?

It will last up to 4 months, depending on the hair type. The treatment lasts longest on chemically treated hair like coloured or relaxed. On virgin hair the results will last longer after the second or third application.

How long should I wait before washing my hair?

For best results, the hair should not be shampooed for the first 3 days after application.

Can I tie my hair back or wear a ponytail?

No, not until you've shampooed your hair after 3 days.

What should I do if my hair gets wet during the first 3 days?

Blow Dry & re-Iron immediately.

How long does the process take?

Usually between 2-4 hours depending on hair length & type.

What shampoo must be used before and after the treatment?

Before the treatment, we recommend using KeraStraight Pre-Treatment Cleanser and after the treatment, use KeraStraight Straight Maintain Shampoo & KeraStraight Straight Maintain Conditioner. These products are Sodium Chloride free (which would strip the Keratin from the hair) and help to maximise the longevity of KeraStraight.

When should I have my next KeraStraight?

After 3-4 months or as needed.

Can I have the treatment every month?

Can I use any hair-spray, gel, mousse, or any other hair products on my hair during the 3 day period?

No, hair must be left completely natural until it is first shampooed after 3 days.
